You might see Yakisoba-sauce in many Japanese recipes and have trouble in getting it, it’s true, this sauce is not easy to find outside of Japan, but fear not, it’s easy to make and only takes about 5 minutes.

What is Yakisoba-sauce?

If referring to its taste, I would say it’s somewhere in between a spiced smoky Worcestershire sauce and extra strong barbeque sauce.

This sauce is not a light one, it’s thick, sweet and sour, not of neutral flavors but it adds so much to the food, personally i’m addicted to this sauce.

The most popular brand in Japan, and my personal favorite is the Bulldog Tonkatsu sauce, this sauce is great for the Okonomiyaki, Yakisoba and the Takoyaki, however our homemade yakisoba-sauce will perform just as good as the bought one.
